VUDU Movie Service Coming to PS3

What comes as somewhat of a suprise, a new move service for PS3 is heading our way. No its no the music services or anything of that nature, its yet another movie service.

VUDU is instant streaming of HD films and HDX films, with a few added bonus. Ok, well maybe just one bonus. All new movies will be added instantly when they release, which will give the store a advantage over the PSN Store's weekly updates. Other than that, there isn't much more to it and there seems to be no other advantage to it. Other than a somewhat clean look, features Netflix recently released, everything remains the same. Even the overpriced movie rentals are the same.

Its kind of odd Sony used the "we don't want Netflix conflicting with our store" excuse a year ago, and now they just don't bother. But hey, its cool the more free features the better. The only thing I wish is these streaming services could provide better prices. Redbox offers 1 dollar rentals for 24 hours, the same amount of time offered through these servies, and Blockbuster will give you five to seven days for the price. Thats physical copies, something more pricey to handle, so whats the big deal?

Ubisoft Partner with LOVEFiLM For AR Marketing Campaign

LOVEFiLM has joined forces with leading international games publisher Ubisoft, offering its members a chance to watch the new trailer of the latest and third instalment of the hugely successful gaming franchise, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, through augmented reality (AR) - a media first for both companies.

For the first time LOVEFiLM, Europe's largest subscription service streaming movies and TV episodes over the Internet and sending DVDs by post, has created a run of 350 thousand Assassin's Creed Brotherhood themed envelopes that carry an embedded AR code to give gamers an even higher level of interaction with LOVEFiLM's service - envelopes will be delivered directly to members letterboxes and visitors to the site can download and print-off a digital version.

The innovative envelopes were developed by technology specialists Crossplatform TV- experts in AR, Digital Out Of Home (DOOH), Web TV and Mobile.

Online promotion for the game, which is available on PS3T, XBOX 360 and PC formats, centres around the bespoke Assassin's Creed Brotherhood microsite (www.lovefilm.com/brotherhood). It provides fans with a synopsis and visuals of the game and the chance to vote for the Ultimate Film Assassin.

Dionne Georgiou, Media Sales Team Manager for LOVEFiLM commented:

"The Assassin's Creed series is a hugely popular gaming franchise, and we're excited to be working in partnership with Ubisoft and Crossplatform TV to offer our members an even higher level of interaction with the new game via augmented reality envelopes. It is certain to do justice to such a highly regarded game."

Jan Sanghera, Senior Product Manager for Ubisoft commented:

Modern Warfare Bundle Heading to PS3

So Black Friday is extremely close, and a lot of ads have already been released. Well I was checking some video game deals out, and found one worth noting here.

According toKmarts black Friday ad, there will be a Modern Warfare bundle coming to at least PS3 gamers. In the ad is a picture of a game box with both Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 on the cover. The price is only $45 so its a steal for anyone that doesn't happen to have either game.

I looked around online for both news of this bundle and other stores selling it, and couldn't find anything. So if this comes as old news to you, I am sorry. The details of the bundle have yet to be released, so we are not sure if all the DLC for both titles will be availible on the disc. Could trophies for COD4 finally be coming?

Stay tuned for more killer deals!

Black Ops Patch Fixes Most But Not All Issues

With Black Ops being the highest selling game of all time, you would expect a lot of common issues to not occur. This wasn't the case for PS3 gamers, and it angered many of them. Well if you took a break due to those issues and are currently waiting for them to be addressed before returning then it might be a good time to check it out.

According to Treyarch a recent patch fixes all of the below:

Improved matchmaking to find matches significantly faster

Improved matchmaking to ensure that players are more effectively matched to games with the best networking conditions

Improved host selection to ensure that the best host is always selected in the pre-game lobby

Improved party system to ensure that parties don’t get broken apart

Disable ability to join Private Match, Combat Training and Theater lobbies when searching for Player Match games

Server-side and game-side changes to decrease the amount of failed Film uploads

Weekly and Monthly leaderboards will now track all kills, deaths and assists properly (All Time leaderboards were not affected by this)

Prevention of Combat Training stats getting crossed with Player Match stats under rare conditions

Prevention of temporary loss of functionality when a button was being held down at the point of a disconnect

Additional fine-tuning of audio levels and ranges for footsteps and gunfire

Additional fine-tuning of audio levels for bomb plants/defuses

Additional online security enhancements

Optimization to prevent friends list from spamming user while in game – will improve game performance for users with large numbers of friends

However a future patch seems to be in the works to address even further issues including spawn points giving teams advantages. At least we should be able to play the game without massive lag now.

PSP A Good Transition to PSP2

PSP has been a strong addition to the PlayStation family. The sales have slipped dramaticly recently, possibly due to the PSP 2 rumors, so a lot of "hateful" comments have been swinging their way. Well at least these comments are helpful for any future handheld Sony makes.

Ready at Dawn co-founder Ru Weerasuriya noted that the PSP was doomed from the very start. While it was a powerhouse system, it lacked many features they wanted in a handheld. Simply stating this was due to the fact this was Sony's first attempt at a handheld market.

“It’s a good platform and you can make amazing things on it. I think that we’ve tried as much as possible to prove that in the last seven years. But it was doomed from the beginning, that’s its biggest problem."

He goes on to note that it should be a good learning tool for PSP2. Sony knows what they need to bring to the table and how to offer it. So hopefuly the powerhouse features will meet the demands and make something cool.

LittleBigPlanet was a massive success for PlayStation and the fans cannot get enough of it. Afterall it is one of the most fun games around. Well a LittleBigPlanet 2 is going to be releasing soon, but sadly it got pushed to January instead of this holiday season.

There are no worries though as Sony announce a demo for the upcoming game will be released December 22nd. Yes you can still check out the new gameplay mechanics, including a grappling hook, story levels, and some other odds and ends with the upcoming demo. A Score-based multiplayer mode will also be availible.

Batman Arkham City To Be Revealed During VGA's

Batman: Arkham Asylum was a great success and seemed to have revived the superhero genre of games. With the announcement of the second one, fans have been excited but there hasn't been much to see.

This is all about to change as Batman Arkham City is getting a full fledged treatment during Spikes Video Game Awards. The awards start on December 11th and we should expect to see an actual trailer from the game, along with the devs possibly giving us some more details. So far we have only seen a teaser trailer and some screenshots, so this could be exciting.

The tweet revealing the info from Geoff reads : "First 2: VGAs to feature world premieres of BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY and the unveiling of the next game from BioWare."

So How Big is Gran Turismo 5?

Since the beginning of time, mankind has waited for the release of Gran Turismo 5. Ok, well maybe not since the beginning of time, but it's been a while. Gran Turismo 5 is finally releasing on Wednesday 24th November, and inevitably it has been leaked on to the internet beforehand.

So how big is this game? God of War 3 was approximately 40GB in size, and a game like Gran Turismo 5, which has over 1000 cars and tons of levels and gameplay modes must be just as big right?

Wrong, the game is approximately 19.5GB in size, still too big for a DVD, but I'm guessing everyone expected it to be bigger than that. The small size can however be explained easily if the game is using more shaders rather than textures, because the cars don't necessarily need to be textured, and a shader actually looks more natural.

GT5 EU and US Release Date Announced

Wednesday November 24, 2010. Mark that date on your calendars because that's when Gran Turismo is coming out in both PAL markets and North America, just in time for Black Friday. Kazunori Yamauchi announced the date, along with the following statement:

"Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Program! When we created the original Gran Turismo back in 1997, we wanted to set a completely new precedent for the racing genre. With the technological leap onto PlayStation 3, our objective with Gran Turismo 5 was to create another great revolution which would not only satisfy our own high expectations, but would meet or even exceed the anticipation of the fans. Satisfying the loyal Gran Turismo followers is at the heart of all of our efforts, which is why it was such a difficult decision to delay the release of the game, and one which we did not take lightly. I can only apologize to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed."

The official box art has also been unveiled which can be viewed below:

No PSPGo Price Drop For The UK

As you may have read, there was to be a price drop of 30 GBP on the PSPGo. Sony is now refuting that report, stating that this was a website error. Upon checking the official website, the GO is still priced at 129. Sony states that it will be fixed sometime today. Though if they were smart, they'd honor any purchases made at the (still current) price as that's just good business. But then again, Sony has some odd ways of doing business as it relates to customers at times as well.

Something else to consider is that this error could turn into quite the profit for Sony, with Christmas fast approaching. They would see more volume of sales if they put out a dictum that basically stated that the price was in error, but to thank customers for loyalty and with the holiday season around the corner, they'll keep the price as is till Dec. 26. If I were them I'd sing it to the rooftops as well.

Treyarch Helped Modern Warfare 2 Online

The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops recently released and has mixed feelings. If you are not playing on Xbox 360 it seems to be luck of the draw as to rather or not you have online issues. This means alot of people are still saying Treyarch has yet to live up to Infinity Ward on the series.

Activision's Bobby Kotick says otherwise. "That’s an unfair view of Treyarch. You know it’s not really an objective view. Treyarch contributed so significantly to the multiplayer technology that’s in Modern Warfare 2 and they didn’t really get the credit for that.”

I don't know how much Treyarch helped and I don't know how much Modern Warfare 1 helped, but I do know Black Ops is having some massive issues. So if Treyarch wants that respect a nice little patch or quick fix will bring it rather easily. Black Ops is a great game and you will see our review later today.

Games = Violence According to Survey

Well, it looks like Americans still think that video games can be linked to violent behavior. In a recent telephone survey, done by Pulse Opinion Research on behalf of Rasmussen Reports, 54% of those that responded felt that the more violent videogames do cause violence in real life. This has been discredited several times over, and yet still persists. The question for me is: why?

One thing to consider is that no parent ever wants to take the responsibility of saying that they didn't watch their kid enough, or weren't as interested in the types of games they were playing. Instead, they'd much rather blame society, games, developers and so on, instead of looking in the mirror. With the ESRB, the ratings are clearly marked on the game, so as a parent, if you see that and still buy the game then you need to explain to your kid that what they may see/play is NOT the accepted way to function in society.

In short, I do believe that more education is needed, but not for the kids. For the parents. Ultimately, they need to teach right from wrong, and take a firm hand in their child's game playing activity. Take the time to consider the game that your child wants. Actually do the research on it. And if you find you're not comfortable with what you see, don't get it. There is, of course, nothing stopping them from playing the game at a friend's house.

Point is, I've never truly understood why this is SUCH a big issue. After all, the level of violence on TV and in the movies is much higher. But because the violence in video games is interactive that must mean that the player will do the same in real life right? Not only is that insulting to kids, it is insulting to game players of any age.

Dead Nation to Release November 30th

PSN has something spreading through the store like a virus. It's zombies! Yes another zombie game will be heading our way by the end of the month.

It has been announced that Dead Nation will be releasing on November 30th. The game will retail on PSN for $14.99, not bad at all compared to other games. The game will feature tons of things like a "meta game" which will put country-vs-country in a high score battle. Much like Battlefield 1943 did PS3 vs Xbox 360 in a kills battle. The game will also break new grounds by throwing more zombies than ever at you, with each zombie still full of detail.

Sounds interesting, we can't wait to get our hands on it!

So, What Is the Most Used Console?

With the Xbox 360 and PS3, as well as 3D TV and HD (acronym city!), you'd think that by now with market penetration as well as being over 4 years old, the most used console in Japan would be either of those two, right? After all, with the technology and graphical goodness, games can be so much more immersive than they were even a few years ago. But something to consider is that no matter how old a particular game is, if the storytelling is spot-on and the immersion factor is high, you will come back and play it. I still play the NES classic Metroid and have a blast. The game is so well done it just sucks me in. And this was in the day of 8 bit graphics!

In a recent survey in Japan, the most used console still is (get ready) the PS2. This proves to me at least, that you can have all the graphics in the world but if your story sucks, you won't be making sales. 70 percent of those polled still favor the PS2. This is a testament to the longevity of the system itself (a fact that is bolstered by Sony still supporting it....unlike Microsoft with the first Xbox).

Angry Birds Heading to PSN With Multiplayer

Angry Birds is taking over every smart phone in the world by storm. So it was only a matter of time before this "virus" came to consoles right?

Well of course! Angry Birds is in fact coming to consoles very soon, and with it comes a suprise. The title is supposedly going to have a "Worms" like multiplayer to tag along with it. Some things they noted about the title:

Multiplayer Angry Birds will be like old-school Worms PC games.

Multiplayer is a priority, but the developer is still trying to figure out how it will work.

Rovio’s role models are Pixar and Nintendo’s Super Mario series. It does not plan to emulate the addictive microtransactions of popular titles like Zynga’s FarmVille.

A traditional sequel isn’t currently in development, but Versterbacka hinted toward a new game told from the pigs’ point of view.

Rovio wants Angry Birds to be bigger than Tetris (Blasphemous! If Tetris is the Jesus of video games, Rovio must be its John Lennon).

Time to Get Wet Again

If you like grind-house style games then you must remember Wet. This game makes a lot of action in crazy moves with Quentin Tarantino-stylized  visuals and you either loved it or hated it. There really was no in between.and if that is the case, well I have got good news for you: there will in fact be an official sequel to wet. The developer, Behavior, (A2M rebranded) has recently confirmed this plus a sequel to Naughty Bear:

"We're working on Wet 2 right now and Naughty Bear 2, he team is still at it, but that's all I can say," Behaviour CEO Rémi Racine said.

Interestingly enough, despite low earnings, Racine had nothing but praise for publisher Bethesda, who inherited the game from Vivendi in the middle of the Activion-Blizzard merger. It could have very easily been lost in the shuffle:

""We were very happy with Bethesda's commitment. But, in their defense, we probably signed them too late. We should have signed them probably six months prior so we had more time to market the game. I think they came in late. Still, they did a very good job of promoting the game in the community. In the time that they had they did a very good job."

Here's hoping that the next instalment fixes some of the issues that many found in terms of story and playability. Here's also hoping that the sequel does much better, because with the unique look and gameplay, it really does deserve to be a top game.

No Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Next Year

Call of Duty is a yearly franchise now, and while Black Ops just released why not find information about next years title? Well rumors have been floating around that next years title will be the much anticipated Modern Warfare 3, folling a two year cycle for Infinity Ward, but it seems those rumors can die.

Sledgehammer Games is working on the next title and with that comes Space Marines. Yes it is being noted the next title will not be history or modern, but instead the future and take place in space. Will it be space like Dead Space or will it follow the futuristic style of Ubisofts Ghost Recon? That remains to be the question.

For now how about we just enjoy Black Ops ?

Kick Ass Comes to PSN (again)

It was announced today that Kick Ass New and Improved has come to the PSN courtesy of WHA Entertainment, a publisher and developer of entertainment games based on "leading IP franchises." This includes a new end mission, new moves and new enemies to fight. Sounds suspiciously like what we've heard before right? Well, perhaps not.

"We are excited for players to visit the PSN store and check out the new game," said Howard Horowitz, Founder and CEO of WHA Entertainment, Inc. "The added bonus is if a player previously purchased and downloaded the game, they can update it with this version for free, so it's a great value for both new and current players."

Remember this is NEW and IMPROVED so if you've previously bought the original, you can get this download for free. Otherwise it is a bargain price of $9.99. I quite enjoyed the movie, and am looking forward to playing the game.

Bad News For Dynasty Warriors Fans

How many here remember Dynasty Warrios? Raise your hands please. Everyone? Ok GOOD. Now how many of you remember the franchise fondly? Ah, not quite as many I see. Well, it appears that milking a franchise for all it is worth and churning out a new game every year is not the cash solution it once was. Just ask Tecmo Koei CEO Kenji Matsubara.

He will be resigning later this month following a disappointing 6 month financial statement that saw profits dwindle to $136.9 million, a drop of almost 30%. Tecmo Koei also posted an operating loss of $ 20 million in their video game division. Needless to say, this is not good.

The outgoing Matsubara will be replaced by founder Yoichi Erikawa as CEO and President of Temo Koei Holdings and Tecmo Koei Games.

I can completely see where they are coming from and why Matubara-san resigned. No one wants to post losees, especially when the economy is so fragile. Best to get some new blood into the position.

Black Ops Estimated Sales Over 7 Million

Call of Duty Black Ops was already begining to break records with over 4.5 million pre-orders before it released, but more records seem to be getting smashed. With the game just recently releasing, sales estimates have been coming in and show even bigger numbers.

According to VGCharts, yes not official, Black Ops has sold over 7 million units. This would of course give the game a bigger opening day than Modern Warfare 2 and make it the largest in entertainment. Sales broke down from region to region show USA with 3 million units, 2 million in the UK, and smaller numbers elsewhere. Xbox 360 is obviously leading the way thanks to exclusive marketing campeigns, but PS3 users are right there with them.

These numbers can somewhat be confirmed thanks to over 4 million players currently playing the title on Xbox Live and around the same amount of on PlayStation Network. Stick around for when we get actual numbers!

How About Some More Resistance 3 Details

If you are anything like me, any news on Resistance 3 is great news. Well a recent magazine has revealed a little bit about the game, and while its nothing drastic, its still something worth checking out. The details of the magazine are listed below curtesy of GamersMint.

Capelli will be willing to do anything to protect his wife and child in the game The development process is going steadily for the game however, the HUD is mostly empty right now and the design and modelling of weapons is not over. The team’s still not decided over whether the game offer you with health packs which will replenish your health or will go with the classic health bar. The aiming mechanics of the game will be easier Resistance 3 is not similar to Call of Duty games but it’s made in order to appeal to shooter lovers. New weapons will be available in the game which have not been announced yet. Carbine, Auger and Hedgehog grenades will be back. You cannot drive vehicles in the game but can be a passenger mounting the weapons and firing them while someone else drives. The final 6 months of development will be devoted to optimizing the graphics and visual style of the the game. The game will be designed in such a way that the player will always get the feeling that someone or something is following him and doesn’t feel safe anywhere. The NPC have seen some major upgrades and they will react in a much more interactive way to your actions Some survivors have settled in a school and are formed a group. They have turned into cannibals and can eat other quietly.ADD ARTICLE:

THQ Planning Homefront Sequel

THQ has stated that their franchises are something other companies would want. Wh would of thought they thought about this before the first title of a new franchise is even released though.

Yes THQ is already making a second title for the Homefront franchise, and the first title doesn't release until next year.

"The sequel has new features and doesn't even deal with the same characters."

"It takes place on the other side of the Mississippi -- nobody knows what's going on over there because the North Koreans have irradiated the Mississippi with radioactive iodine and nobody can cross it without a hazmat suit. It's very interesting stuff.”

THQ has been sending us all very stellar title and have been a force to be reckoned with so you hear no complaints on our end, just curiosity.

PS3 Version of Black Ops Needs Patch Work

Black Ops is getting alot of good reviews and fan input after release. That is if you are one of the very few capable of turning it off to talk about it. However there seem to be some issues with the title too, afterall no game is perfect.

According to the Black Ops forums, the PS3 version of the game is recieving alot of issues. Things such as :

- Party Invite System not working, unable to join friends even with public chosen
- Leaderboard not reading correct kills
- Framerate issues, affecting gameplay
- Theatre mode not working correctly
- Respawns, issue spawning near enemies on smaller maps
- Game freezing PS3 Console
- Party option "Leave with party" not working correctly
- Locale Search option not working
- Mic's not showing in lobby
- Error "Disconnected due to transmission Error" appears after some games

These reports come for the PS3 version, and all we ask Treyarch is you share some love with us too! Afterall we already get DLC late. Either way expect a patch to be released real soon that fixes all of the above issues as Treyarch/Activision have noted they will be on top of these things as quickly as possible.

Square-Enix Lowers Our Expectations

You win some you lose some right? That's the case with Square Enix's financial forecast. The company has lowered its earning forecast for the first half of this fiscal year. In short, this means bad news for shareholders, but potentially good news for gamers. Why? Think about this: When a company has high earnings there really is no reason to see price cuts on games. But when things are suddenly no so rosy, as here, there is the potential to see lower prices which of course get passed on to consumers.

The hard numbers: Square Enix has reduced new sales expectations by 10.5 percent to$846 million, below what they took in during the same period last year.Net income projections were also lowered to USD $21 million. Reason? "challenging operating environment" and "slow growth" in new games is the official line. Translation: the economy is still shaky, and we didn't make as much as we projected. Oops.

This is not to say that the company is in any financial straits (it IS Square Enix!), but so much for the video game industry being recession proof!

Rumor: Sony to Enter Tablet Market with PSP2

Sony is known for leading technology, so when they say they are entering the smartphone and tablet market why wouldn't you be excited? During a recent an earning call Sony talked about future products coming from their portable market. Noting that Ericsion did slump, but the PlayStation division will be keeping them afloat with a new approach to the market.

"We will look into those markets in trying to develop strategy for the future. Of course, we can't talk about specific products, but smartphones and tablets... it is difficult to tell you how we can put the games on them, but they are not going to be planned in different parts of our company."

They noted that when the time is right is when they will announce the new product line, perhap E3? While a "confirmation" on the PlayStation Phone is always great, they went on to talk about the tablet market.

"Obviously as a mobile strategy, this occupies a very important position. On one hand there is PC, and on the other hand there is joint venture with Ericsson on smartphone and for the games devices.

Tablets... fall somewhere in between, and it is true Apple has led the market, but when we are to enter the market, we would like to put a Sony character onto ... a new product, and that is the effort we are making right now. Therefore I think you can hope for a very good product to come out."

They want to put a known Sony character on a new line of products, so does this confirm PSP 2 will be like a tablet device? Meanwhile the new Ericson line is a smartphone based PSP style device? The questions are there and the dreams are begining to flow. We are excited!

PSP Mini's to Become Bigger App Based

Sony recently talked about PSP and the future rumored handhelds coming from them later. While they pretty much summed up PlayStation Phone and hinted towards a tablet, they also mentioned how this gameplan will be differnt than PSP. Since PSP first launched, smartphones have becoming bigger, and Apple began to throw app based games at us. Well Sony plans to take that boat and travel further.

"The PSP being a proprietary platform was more concentrated I'd say core gaming segment rather than the light game, but now we are addressing that market as well," said Kato.

"I cannot be specific as to how we will introduce new products to address these markets," Kato added, "but one thing I can say is that we have those markets addressed and we will come out with products and services to capture the broader gaming market."

The PSP Minis store on PSN comes to mind here. This store was supposed to be smaller based games that come with a lower price and take up less space on the handheld. While Sony touted 9 million sales within the first months, the store has been somewhat quiet, along with a slow decline of PSP sales in general.

However the rumored PlayStation Phone was noted to be using a newer Android OS. Of course Android is one of the leading smartphone OS with a massive app based store, so this could possibly be Sony noting their reasoning behind using Android. Hopefully Sony can find a good mix between casual and core gamers though.

New Resident Evil Coming?

Ah horror video games. The fright, the screams, the laughably bad dialog ("You are the master of unlocking" anyone?). This time of year it makes me nostalgic. Of course if you're a true afficionado, then Resident Evil, in all its various incarnations, is something you'll have played. I'm STILL going through the Gold Edition of RE:5 and it regularly scares the daylights out of me. With the new RE movie you may be wondering (given the quality) if the franchise is dead.

Perhaps not. Apparently, according to docs obtained by Kotaku, there is a new RE in the pipeline, named Resident Evil: Racoon City. And also apparently, it will be squad based....Not too sure how I feel about that as it could well take away from the sheer terror we're supposed to feel. Slant Six, best known for their work on SOCOM: Confrontation, will be the lead.

Naturally the official statement from Capcom is that there is no official statement. But with a reboot of the Devil May Cry franchise, is this really a surprise?

Keiji Inafune Explains All

As we know now, Keji Inafune, head of production at Capcom has left the company. But until today, there was speculation as to why he left and what it meant. And thankfully, Inafune-san has addressed the issues surrouding his departure, which go deeper than monet, fame or even loyalty to the company. He believes that the entire industry needs to change to move forward:

"The reason why I'm quitting is basically because I think that the game industry itself must change the way it goes about making games,"say Inafune-san, "The really big wall that the Japanese game industry is hitting is the changing of its creators into salarymen...There are a lot of people who take their company's commitment for granted and don't work as hard as they should. This could be said of the entire industry, and of course Capcom is no exception."

"I was in the position of being a naysayer, and yet was assured a paycheck the next month," he says. "No matter how much one is late or skips work, or even no matter how lousy a game is made, the next month's paycheck was always guaranteed."

In short, Inafune-san is stating that the passion and drive to create excellence is waning in his estimation, where profits and paychecks are put ahead of desgning a first-rate experience for the consumer. He was also critical of how praise and blame were handled.

Kinect Low Stock A Marketing Tool, Or No Hope

PlayStation Move has recently released and during the first few weeks it was hard to get our hands on one. Being sold out everywhere, Sony noted they are trying to keep up with demand, but the units are selling extremely well. After all I havent seen a single person be disapointed with it around me. Well stock seems to be better now, and the unit is still selling pretty well.

Going further into it, retailers are noting Move is actually selling better than Kinect. ShopTo.net are noting "

“Unfortunately stock allocation for launch day has dampened the sales of Kinect for us and many other retailers meaning we cant promote it as much as we would like.

“The best way to get hold of Kinect at the moment is to order one of the console and Kinect bundles."

So does this come down to the "Nintendo Plan" as we like to call it. Keep stock low, make people want it because its not there, then use that as a marketing tool for the holidays? Even Sony noted Move may be in short supply this holiday season. Either way I see this as good news for Sony.

Join PlayStation in the Fight to Protect Video Games

The lawsuits against violent video games are almost as common as the studies proving and dis-proving the evidence backing violent behavior. With this in mind, gamers are normally not getting angry because of games, but because of lawmakers pushing lies as facts and threatning the game industry as a whole.

Well PlayStation and a bunch of great developers have stepped up to stop a bill trying to be passed in the state of California. Who would of thought the home state of all these developers would be the ones trying to crumble a big industry? Well its true. The bill will allow the government to place restrictions on "violent" video games, at which can not be sold within the state. The issue? Well this isn't just to minors, its in general, and no-where does it state whats violent or not.

In simple terms this allows the government too much control over what we see and don't see. They can simply stop games in production and deem them not viable for us, thus we never see anything creative again. Even if you are not a gamer, this is extremely important that you voice your opinion. Simply because this effect could move on to movies, books, and other forms of entertainment. Before you know it, we get nothing but what the government wants us to have.

So get your voice out there! See the Official PlayStation Blog for more info, and be sure to sign up at VideoGameVotersNetwork to voice your opinions!

Gran Turismo 5 is Gold

It was a bit of sad new a while ago when Sony noted Gran Turismo 5 had been delayed. While not exactly confirmed, sources say it was to include a new firmware update on the disc due to hackers breaking PS3. Thanks guys....

Well no worries! While it was hard to say the game was still releasing this year, we can almost count on it now. According to a recent comment from Kazunori at SEMA (an auto world show) the discs have gone gold. When asked when the game will release he simply stated "the discs are being stamped as we speak." In other words it has gone gold!

So look for GT5 to have another official release date real soon, hopefully this month!

New Un-Announced Battlefield On The Way

EA has been dominating the shooter department yet again, but this time around its the Battlefield series. Bad Company 2 recieved alot of praise, and has a new expansion coming soon. Medal of Honor is currently on shelves and comes with a Battlefield 3 Beta invite. So what more could possibly be coming?

Well according to DICE there is more coming and we will know as soon as Friday. A recent Tweet reveals.

Flying to London later today to show a new, unannounced #Battlefield game to the press. News goes public on Friday. (NOT #BF3)

Just to confirm – I am NOT going to London to announce any game called ‘Battlefield Assault’. That is just a URL EA picked up.

So What is this new title going to be? Bad Company 3? A new casual game? Something we are all interested in? Who knows!
